Even iconic heritage precincts can start to feel static as dining habits evolve and crowds shift to newer developments. We wanted to celebrate one of the city’s most beautiful walkable neighborhoods by giving people a fresh reason to rediscover its streets after dark.
As part of the District After Dark series, Village Encounters goal was to rejuvenate Holland Village, a precinct where deep heritage seamlessly meets contemporary living. By designing a series of pedestrian-friendly, interactive activations, evening pop-ups, and music-led programming throughout its walkable lanes, we re-energize the neighborhood’s night-time appeal. The initiative drives visitors directly into surrounding local bars, cafes, and heritage eateries, turning a classic neighborhood into a vibrant, multi-layered evening destination for locals and tourists alike.
